C IL | Cheap is to get the Radio Shack / Motorola radios. They don't need a license and have several channels. Range is limited. Maybe just a few miles, depending upon weather conditions. Hunters also use the kinds of radios.........look on cabelas' web site. We started with them. Got the earbud, etc. Better than nothing, and can be frustrating. It takes some money to set up a nice farm FM radio system. We like ours. Hard to find a place to mount radios in tractors. Watch the new FCC regs on frequencies that take effect soon. When you are done, you will like a good system. Some farmers here are going to cell phones, and I think that is a real pain. | |
