I hassled with the local gas company for years before they came up with a decent price in 1997. Cost about $10,000 to go just over 1/2 mile with 2" line and provide a meter at the grain dryer and and another at the house. Earlier quotations were well above $20,000. Quite a few years later I actually got a rebate on part of the upfront investment. I have no idea what it would cost today.
