Jorn, thank you for the pictures and for remembering the tremendous sacrifices made by many and especially the 8th Air Force in WWII. I happened to be on a business trip in the Netherlands and Denmark on the 50th anniversary of the liberation of these areas. It was truly a moving experience to see the gratitude of these people, even after 50 years, for the sacrifices made on their behalf. There was a time in May 1942 where the expected lifetime of an 8th Air force B-17 plane crew was about 2 weeks. But they went anyway. We all need to remember that, here in the US too. Anyone who has a chance should tour the 8th Air Force museum at Duxford, England and then go to the Cambridge American Cemetery. You will come out changed.
