West Central Alberta Coldest, wettest edge
We are not nearly as wet as you guys further east, which is opposite to a normal year. We've had above average, but the ground was so dry that it is still drinking it up. I certainly feel your sympathy. I see the AB gov is just now announcing help for the cattle producers due to the drought. not sure what good that is a year after the fact. Maybe expect a similiar prompt program tohelp you guys now? I thought that if you bought the whole package of crop insurance, you were covered for unseeded acres due to wet conditions?
Do you see any upside potential for feed barley due to the weather, or will this just mean that everything makes feed and it drops even further? I still have all of last years crop, hoping for a weather scare this summer. Too bad it has to be at someone elses expense. Seems to be the way of farming doesn't it, only way one can have a good year is if somewhere else is having a really bad year.
