One of the keys to getting the most out of your pivot is don't get behind,especially around peak bloom & boll fill. Next, determine what your soil perk rate is - set the pivot speed to apply what the soil will absorb/perk. Another point - with the extra water being applied during the summer, use of residual herbicides will keep the additional weeds for causing yield loss & harvest problems. Know when to cut your pivot off - in Sept. The crop will use very little water as it matures so realize what amount of water is in your soil "sponge".
