Rolla, ND
The taste problem would be rapeseed and not canola. You can experience the difference yourself. Pop a canola leaf in your mouth and you experience something very much like romaine lettuce, pop a rapeseed in your mouth and the flames will leap from your nostrils. Wild mustard is a suitable substitute for rapeseed.

Sometimes they are a bit slow in accepting it, once they know canola you have to watch them when you introduce them because they can bloat.

It's been done for a long time. Old literature mentions sun sensitivity as a potential problem with rapeseed grazing, especially with hogs. Haven't heard it to be a problem with canola.

Been some recent work, the grazing they did did not hurt final canola yield. There of course would be a limit to it.
