| That's definitely carpetweed, which looks nothing like purslane. Purslane has thicker leaves, kind of like cotyledons on soybeans. And it's usually purplish in color on part of the plant. We have it (both of them) here in small patches, like gardens. A lot of that leaf material (on the carpetweed) only has one root, so you'll remove a lot of leaves with one root, it creeps out across the ground.
