Subject: Re: decompose stalks

SW MN and Gold Canyon AZ
On fields with fall applied manure I always spread about 40lbs N in the form of urea in the spring. Manure applicators have a tendancy to MISS areas or drive wide sometimes . the 40 lbs gives enough N to atleast salvage some yield from those smaller areas. It also gives a boost to the young corn plants if the N from manure isn;t available. i could use starter but don't like all that equipment on my planter and years ago didn't see any advantage to it .
