What have you heard bad about the John Deere air drills? If you are happy with the way your 750's are working I don't think anything else will please you, especially for accuracy of seed placement. There were some issues with seed placement on the 60 series drills, but that was fixed years ago with the 90 series.
Double disk drills tend to move a lot of soil around and leave the seed row in a rill. The Sunflower has "soil control devices" to help control the soil blow out from the seed row.
Depth is controlled by the press wheel behind the opener with is not a good as the Deere single disk arrangement.
