| All we have ever used on the farm as a welder has been the big box store Lincoln arc welder, 250 amp AC (I think). Got a small 110 MIG a few years ago for the light welding I wanted to do. We started doing enough welding now I figured on upgrading to a good DC arc welder. But how does a a good stick compare to a good MIG? I know the MIG doesn't like dirt or wind, but I am thinking more in terms of different positions (overhead, vertical) as I am not actually a very good welder and need all the help I can get. I always strategize how I can lay a flat bead and sometimes its a pain. What are the suggestions for frequent repair and re-manufacturing use? | |
