Something is WAY wrong.
For comparison I use a rebuilt 4430 on a hardi 1100 gallon sprayer and also have a 540 pump but I use a 1000rpm adapter. With the adapter I cannot rev the motor over 1400rpm or I risk over revving the pump. I pull the sprayer at 1200-1400rpm in D4(12mph), and I have enough power.
