We have a small creek running through a farm that doesn't run much water but does get out of it's banks every once in a while. There has always been a 30" culvert with rock over it; been there for 20 some years. Last year the rock washed away. We fixed it 3 times last year and now it is washed out again; I am looking for a better way. I was thinking if I could get my hands on some used hog slats, they might work in the bottom of a crossing and forget the culvert idea. The water would never wash those things away and we wouldn't spend a fortune on rock every 3 months. Has anyone used these for this type of application? My other option looks to be to pour concrete over the culvert...not crazy about that one. Thanks for any ideas.
If your looking for some used hog slats, i have a bunch of 4'x10' gang slats for sale, email in my profile works. |
