West-central Illinois | We have a small creek running through a farm that doesn't run much water but does get out of it's banks every once in a while. There has always been a 30" culvert with rock over it; been there for 20 some years. Last year the rock washed away. We fixed it 3 times last year and now it is washed out again; I am looking for a better way. I was thinking if I could get my hands on some used hog slats, they might work in the bottom of a crossing and forget the culvert idea. The water would never wash those things away and we wouldn't spend a fortune on rock every 3 months. Has anyone used these for this type of application? My other option looks to be to pour concrete over the culvert...not crazy about that one. Thanks for any ideas.
