Subject: Acre Projections

Macon, IL
University of Illinois have put some potential projections together for 2010 crops of corn, wheat and soybeans. They see potential
for ACRE payments in Illinois of $41 per acre on corn, $14 per acre on soybeans and $33 per acre on wheat,
with a 51% chance for a corn payment, 36% for soybeans and 66% for wheat.

That compares to Illinois 2009 payments currently projected at $27 per acre on corn and $90 per acre on
wheat with no payment for soybeans. Even though the final payment potential won’t be known until May 31 for
wheat and Aug. 31 for corn and soybeans, University of Illinois’ Gary Schnitkey says corn prices would have to
average $3.84 for the rest of the marketing year and wheat would have to average over $23 per bu. in April and
May for there NOT to be a payment generated.
