Subject: Two part question concerning BP oil spill

Mascoutah, Illinois
I know this subject has generated quite a few threads. If this well is not contained for another two months in the Gulf of Mexico what affects could it have on these two items?
1. If a hurricane made another direct hit on New Orleans and the city was flooded again, would it have to be declared an area folks could no longer live in due to the contamination?
2. Could a tropical storm or hurricane in the Gulf making landfall cause environmental issues further inland to crops? I guess what I am asking with this question is, would oil in the rain be of any concern? If so, could this be damaging to farmland for any period of time?
