Eastern VA. No such thing as too many Magnums.
We just engage them whenever we need them. I've locked up while spinning. We've got real high hours and I've never been into one. You got to realize how incredibly slow things are actually turning down there, even when you account for the inboard planetary reduction. Ever watched an axle go around on a back wheel? Takes a long time to make one rev. I think you can use it continuously without issue. I like the auto setup. We use auto when pulling the 10 row ripper bedder too. Tractor lugs hard in 9th with the Michelins. If you're not using the 3 point, the lever has to be back AND the switch in up position or the auto MFD won't work. That took a little adjustment when we moved from older 71/72 series. My guys were like.... "front wheels don't pull in auto". Had to cycle the lever and hit the switch up.
