Hay Wilson in TX

Subject: Something to keep in mind.

Little River, TX
As a hay crop matures the quality goes down as the quantity goes up.

Protein is found by multiplying the percent of nitrogen by 6.25. Most mineral percentages decrease as the nitrogen percentage decreases, except for Calcium and Magnesium. Possibly boron and chlorine also.

Each of these elements have their own unique bell curve with yield increasing as mineral percentage increases, but most have a flat response close to 100% of maximum yield. Eventually though yield will decrease as these mineral become excessive.
What we have is 16 bell curves, all of which interact with the others. A math nightmare!!!!!! Way beyond my education at Southwest Texas State Teachers College from 60 years ago.
