You might give a look at the 10 tine version of the grapple on the link above.  It would be the 'Gorilla Grapple'.  I've got the 6 tine version 'Gregory Grapple' and I'm impressed completely with it.  I firmly believe if anything is going to get bent it will be the arms on the skidsteer and nothing on the grapple itself.  Built like a brick sh!thouse.  Over built really is a more accurate description, heavy as hell but it ain't gonna bend. 

I'd like to have a 10 tine version, but I found the six tine at an auction and it was like new for less than half price.  The six tine version is lacking when it comes to raking up small stuff. 

As for using it like a ripper, it'll stand up to what ever you can push or pull with the bottom or top sections.  And without the bracing between the tines, it can go in as deep as you have traction or power to put it.
