Subject: DAWN STRIPTILL??'S

SC, MN.
Are there any units in south central MN. running in the spring? I would like to walk out in some spring strips in corn & bean stubble.

I have to admit I used to feel strip tilling was ONLY a fall practice. I supose that could be the case depending on the type of machine.

I would like to eventually use RTK system to create a controlled traffic pattern. I would like to run the same rows every year, could this work? Being an old ridge tiller I struggle with the thought of planting in last years wheel tracks. Maybe w/ RTK I could slide over 6-8" rather than 15.

My thought is to run the corn rows in the fall w/ Orthman stalk cutter/puller & in the spring strip till back in to the old row. I'm wondering how the root ball will be to work with.

Do the stalks need to be shredded? Does the trash handle better in the spring or the fall??

I guess I have lots of ?'s, however I like the looks of the pluribus high speed unit running in the spring If I can fine tune a system for my operation.
