| Chris has the right idea. I would write up a short letter explaining due to the sale of the farm the lease will not be ne-newed for the 2011 crop year, thank you for your service etc....Make it from the current owners and have them sign it at closing assuming that happens within the proper notification dates. I would send it certified mail, but then follow-up with your neighbor in person to let them know its coming before its mailed. That should cover you and if the former tenant has a problem with it, its not your problem. They had an opportunity to buy and a a change of ownership is taking place and they were properly notified. | |
