Subject: Re: soybean yield vs. planting date

In our area, I felt beans responded yield-wise VERY well to earlier planting, even more so than corn. We race to get corn in the ground to beat the July heat during pollination AND to get dryer corn to harvest early.

BUT... it seems the earlier the beans were planted, the more susceptible they became to SDS. It became quite a problem and many have become reluctant to plant prior to May 1st.
