Near-north Ontario, French River
Do they allow shooting of nuisance geese? If they do, whack a few and leave the carcasses in the field. That will generally keep them away. We farm inside the Jack Miner sanctuary up here in Ontario. Have never had resort to shooting, we have had luck with flags, bright yellow seems to work. Geese still go into the corn stubble and tramp it down pretty bad, but so far have stayed out of the wheat. You might also try placing coyote/fox decoys in the field, hawk decoys in trees etc, anything that looks like a predator will make geese think twice before landing, although not sure it would stop them from walking into a field .
