Saskatchewan | We had the same problem with our shed. It is an easy fix, you just have to insulate so the frost doesnt go down under and around the post. Dig out around the post 10 to 12 inches deep and 4 feet around lay two layers of 2" styrofoam around the post going tight against the post and going out 4 ft. put gravel back on top of syrofaom and your problem is fixed. Did ours three years ago and it still hasnt heaved since, even in cental Saskatchewan. I would also do any other posts that you drive beside maybe on each side of the door. if you put a large bottom on the post the frost will even have a larger surface to push up on. | |
