central - east central Minnesota -
Frozen soil is grabbing the rough wood post and sliding it upward easily . . . I would pull it out, dig it down deeper (5-6ft) and on the bottom frame around it with 2x6 material to form a foot like at the base. Drop the foot/base back in and back fill the bottom with a bag or two of sackett then fill with dirt or stone. The 2x6 around the bottom will give much needed resistance to upward pulling force from the frost / soil heaving. Also, line the post with the plastic used for liner material helps also.
