SW IN | I would ask her if it is kinder for a sow to lay on pigs, or restrain the sow for a time. Being mashed to death is not usually a painless death, and that is the fate of an awful lot of pigs in uncrated litters. When we raised hogs, after a good washing, we put the sows in crates. First thing experienced sows did was get a good drink of water, eat a few bites of feed, lay down and sigh contentedly. | |
