north central iowa | I believe those historical yield advantage for full season varieties have all but disappeared in our neck of the woods. [north central Iowa] I have been planting earlier varieties early and they have been the highest yielding, and faster drying. After the slop everyone had to deal with last fall,[wet corn], I don't understand why a farmer would plant later maturing hybrids. In my view, the risk reward ratios have changed dramatically, and I hate wet corn. | |
