We have planted into 36" cornstalks. Since we had auto-steer we just moved off of the old row about 8". We did it this way so we are not planting in the old wheel track. Planted good, crop wasn't very good because we didn't have any N out there before planting and put all of it on after the corn was 6-8" high. It has to be dry so you can cut through the stalks and not just push them into the ground.
