Subject: RE: No-till into cornstalks

North Central Indiana
We mounted a 2x2 angle iron on the front of the pinned up fertilizer openers for two years on our 7000. We removed the fertlizer openers last year so we hung a 3.5x3.5 angle iron with chain from the bar that the fert openers bolt to. Both worked very well. It not only knocks the stalks down before they get to the main planter and it makes combining less dusty because the stalks are on the ground. Not to mention how much nicer a field of beans look without those nasty stalks sticking up throuh the young beans.
