Itta Bena Mississippi
The 1st generation Cats did have better rollers on the undercarraige, rode marginally better on the road, and the front window don't rattle during transport. It also has a small CI disposable engine that has to stay wound up to produce it's rated HP, SCVs that could make the Pope swear and the most inferior 3 point hitch for heavy draft work in a tractor it's class.
The problems I had with mine included shift solenoids that failed regularly and expensive draft control pins that also lacked durability. I spent more on repairs for this tractor than I did on 4 84x0s and 1 4755 combined from 2007-09 and it had fewer hrs than 3 of the JDs. I hope my situation was the exception, but it guaranteed that I won't be competing with everyone else in the yellow tractor market. Tom
