Subject: RE: OK, tell me??

Renville Minnesota

All I told you is that John Deere is made up of people that can and do own Pioneer. Monsanto, Cat, etc.........Deere's owners changed, and do change every day.  The name has changed according to the post Im replying to.   They have the same name, Identity I disagree.

1852 Deere buys out his partners. For the next 16 years, the company is known variously as John Deere, John Deere & Company, Deere & Company, and Moline Plow Manufactory.

When did the Deere familly "sell out" (go public)?  Or do they own controlling stock?  Your timeline doesn't show that.

Of your origianal post this is the only thing I disagree with :

"Is your statement based on the fact that Deere is the only ag manufacturer in the states with a pure unbroken heritage from inception to current date?"

I don't think Im bashing Deere, merely trying to put it into perspective.  Lets put it this way......"It aint no Claas or Cargill type company", one of which has and always has been a privately owned powerhouse.   When one says Cargill, one knows that Cargill started a business, and the familly still ownes all of it.  If they decided to go public, then I consider that to be a major change in business dynamic.

So what Im basically asking is,  "Does the Deere familly get any pennies from the sale of the green and yeller panties ya bought at the strip mall kiosk?
