If you have a high CEC soil it is possible>
If you have a high shrink swell clay soil it is probable.

Here I want to have a 400 to 500 ppm K soil test if we want enough potassium to be available to the crop. The difference is so much of the potassium is trapped in the clay and not available. Dry the clay and the clay opens up and the potassium is available to the Lab's chemistry and is reported as available.

Then there is cation interaction that can depress the uptake of potassium. Here calcium is excessive to the point that the calcium can be double the normal tissue levels and the potassium levels are too low. Supposedly the same thing can happen with too much magnesium or sodium. If you have a pH at or less than 7 and a CEC no higher than 20, I would suspect another element is keeping the potassium levels in the plant depressed.

Tissue testing is where your answer will be, maybe, possibly, should be more or less,
