I've had a White planter for some time now. The seed discs do wear a small amount. It will most likely not be an issue unless you damage one and have to replace just one. The wear is extremely slow, but when you place one new one with the other used ones that row will plant slightly heavier than the rest. The reason for that is the sharper edge inside the disc that "catches" the seed to place it in the cell. The sharper edge between the cells will do a better job.
