It's pretty rare for that to happen. Aside from contact with the meter housing, no major wear should occur to the seed disc. However, if any were to occur, I'd suspect you'd see signs of wear around the edges of the seed pockets or the air ports cut into the pockets. The former might cause some problems with keeping seeds in the discs, possibly requiring more air pressure, the later would likely cause seeds to double in the pockets, requiring less air pressure, but inconsistent performance.
