WC KS | In the 1970's We were partial to 300 Ford 6, chy 413 and 460 Ford. 413 made a for a good solid irrigation engine. For us, they were always a strong motor on the bottom. We always carried an extra set of heads however. I may still have a set of heads somewhere. 413 could take more abuse than a ford or chevy. AS I remember, 427 chevy truck would beat you to the elevator, but 413 would take you to hell and back.
