| It seems there is some agreement, that the standard rotor performs about as good as any in corn, and I would concur with that. So there is half of your requirements. Now the second part is can you make a standard rotor perform well behind a stripper header in wheat...Small wire concaves and /or cover plates as needed for yor conditions will give you a very good sample for less money than some of the other options. The Speciaty rotor was originally designed for rice, to auger damp, green ,ropey, stems through the threshing system.. Gordon bars back the specialty down towards the threshing ability of the standard.. I have a friend that has a 1480 standard rotor machine and a 1666 specialty rotor..He much prefers the 1666 for beans and the 1480 for corn. For wheat he will usually go with the 80 but we direct cut and place a high value on being able the gather up as much of the straw as possible . | |
