No, not for farming. Cat switched from steel to rubber tracks in 1987. Most were dissapointed in the early cat challengers as being a step down from the steel tracks except for the roading ability. Around most of the area steel cats are dwindling in numbers but there are a few dedicated people who will be running steel tracks for many years to come. There are actually cats from the 50s still running full time today so with that said the 80s model cats like the popular D5B could still be running 30 years from now. |
