central ky
I have tried 38,30, 19,15,7.5 inch rows. My best,85bu/acre were on the 38" rows. 30" always yeild same if not more for me. I get a higher stand count with planter than drill. We have heavy clay soil and the close spacing helps crack the crust. I work the ground at planting then spray a product like scepter, or canopy at 1/2 rate and roundup about 2 weeks after emergence, have only resprayed a few spots over the years.
