The Trimble 900mhz radios are operating at the 1 watt output max that the FCC regulates. I would spend more time looking at base station location and base radio antenna height and then use quality coax cable and connectors to minimize signal loss. Also look at using a SN900B repeater radio to help fill-in low signal areas.
