I would concur with the rest. It should do that number of bales for easily. I had a 5580 for a number of years. MY two major complaints were one the twine knives did a lousy job of cutting off the twine, ie think of getting out of year round cab on a 4020 JD to hand cut every bale, replacing knives often helped, but not 100% fix. Second the fixed throat didn't like real dry stemmy grass hay or when the dew started coming on, you were done for the night. I bought a 5585 at an auction, Hesston made to 2 changes between the 5580 & 5585, a different twine cutting system and a chain limiter that limited the pick up throat. I put 120 bales thru it a year with hardly no trouble. Check to see if it is 5580 E model, I think it has the newer updates like the 5585 but before they made the model# change. Tim |
