Jewell County KS | Ive pulled a 5580 since 1985 or so. Can't really complain about them. There just bearings, belts and a few chains. I have bent a roller or 2 over the years. If you can run the machine just watch the bearing flanges if the bearing is flexing in the flange---bent roller. With that said I've baled thousands of bales with a bent roller. Just goes thru bearings a little faster. The bearings in the 3 floating rollers are probably the worst to replace. They were a good baler for there time. It will be electric tie with 2 twine arms. I never had much trouble with the electric motor but my 5585 is getting weak and a priced a new motor at 5- $600 so I would make sure that works.
The paler red color with white pickup is the earlier machine. Darker red with red pickup later and I think the later ones have Fiat on them somewhere.
I'm now running a 956A and a 5585 | |
