Subject: Re: Crustbuster or Great Plains drill

Panhandle of Texas

I have been thinking about the same thing. While we are on this subject, is the 3400 CrustBuster about the same (basically) as the John Deere 455 ? Will each of these drills go through about the same amount of residue? I am wanting a disc drill that will go through milo stubble, and have had my eye on the JD 455; but if another brand of drill will do the same job more economically, I am wanting to hear about it.

I love my JD 9300 hoe drills, and I am going to keep them. I am wanting a set of disc drills, also, about 30 ft. wide, with 10" (or less) spacing. It want it to fold up easily, to get into smaller-type fields.

Would the Deere be the way to go, or is there a cheaper alternative?
