Byron IL | I was thinking about this the other day. I think it's a big risk. That cheap tractor can end up being the biggest drain on the bank account ever. How many times do you ever regret buying the newer better more expensive machine. I think in the long run they end up saving you money. Less repairs also mean less down time as well as repair money. I guess I would have to know the history well. I know of a couple of 20,000 hour machines that didn't have any major repairs but they are definitely the exception and not the rule. I also know of a few 10,000 hour range tractors that needed 15 and one even a 30 thousand dollar transmission. I don't think you'd have that in a 4450 but it still wouldn't take many major repairs to far exceed the value of the tractor. It's not so bad on a tractor that you own already, but not on one you just bought. | |
