Subject: RE: Ontario farmers

East-Central Ontario
We got lucky and got 75% of our soybeans off 10 days ago and wheat in behind it. Last 25% is a wet hole, it'll probably need to freeze before we get to it. Neighbour was doing his driest corn yesterday, it was 28-30%. Not much coming off yet.

On the "plus" side, the closest local elevator (Co-op owned but had been leased out for a year) shut their doors Friday, probably for the season, maybe for good. Wasn't a big one but they did a lot of custom drying and took in enough corn and beans that it'll hurt. Plus there are a number of farmers with crop contracted that are unsure of what's going on with the contracts now.
