Subject: Re: 1680 ?

Southeast Colorado
We fought our 2388 trying to overheat this year in wheat harvest. I put the new brushes on the screen (which by the way is hydraulic driven on mine) and it did not help at all. We struggled along for 10 days or so blowing the radiator out every day when I finally realized that my fan belt was shot. It's a serpentine belt and spring loaded so I hadn't even noticed the problem with it being loose. I'm not saying this is your problem but I would sure as heck check it or at least try a new one. We only had three days of harvesting left after I changed the belt but it made all of the difference in the world. I think more air suction helped tremendously even on my machine with the hydraulic rotory screen. I'd bet the difference would be huge on the 1680. If not the belt check the pulleys and idlers and everything associated with keeping that fan spinning fast. Good luck!
