| Our 1680 has a problem with the radiator getting stopped up with dust. It started sometime after we put spreaders off of a 2188 on it.
the rotating air screen at the rear does not turn as fast as we think it should. .we've replaced both brushes on the screen :circle &strait one on bottom.
That helped but we still have to blow the radiator out every morning in beans. 3-4 hours later the screen wont turn at engine idle.
The water temp is not really a problem maybe 10 degrees above norm, but will run all day 10-12 hours in mud and not run any hotter.
thats pretty good for a 17 year old machine.
I understand the screen turns from air flow and with the radiator stopped up that the air flow is reduced ,
thus slow turning screen,but why is the dust getting in there to begin with.
We have also tried running with the spreader off, that didn't seem to help at all.
It doesn't look like alot off dust in the air up by the screen.
Does anyone have any thoughts on why we're getting so much dust to the radiator? Any advice is appreciated. thanks | |
