We had a small leak on our poly sprayer tank and welded it with a welding kit from Harbor Freight. It was just done at the end of spraying season so hasn't been torture tested for a whole season. Google "welding plastic" on the internet for information. I got some scrap plastic from another tank for "welding rod."
