Subject: Turning up a TM115 or TS110

I'm looking at a 2001 TM115 and a 2001 TS110 at two different dealers.

The one selling the TM115 says they turn up nearly all the tractors they sell, usually about enough so the PTO power matches what is written on the hood. The mechanic is pretty sure the one I'm looking at has been done.

The one selling the TS110 says they discourage customers from "doctoring" the engines and that if the machine has been turned up there is a good chance you will see black smoke when you work it hard. Their mechanic says the TS110 has not been touched.

Now, I know the drive train on a TM115 can likely handle the extra power better than a TS110 because the TS is the biggest tractor in its frame size, but that TS was used for PTO work mostly, and that is what I would use it for too.

So what do you think:
Is one dealer full of it?
Does it make a difference wear and tear wise on the drivetrain when you turn up a tractor and don't use the extra power to pull (just PTO)?
Is there a big difference engine wise between a TM and TS?
