East Prairie, MO | I have had really good results on my dryland with Crow's 4354 VT3 (109 day). The conventional is 4355 (107 day). I plant 24,000 in a dryland situation, now, I do have some ground that has just enough sand ridges that I will plant the whole field in this variety and it can put up a very good yield on the better ground too which makes it a good choice for that type of situation too. Don't know if it will keep it's number or what with the Channel name covering all brands now. Root knot nematodes are our problem here too and I don't know if you can plant a mid group 5 bean there but if you can a really good one for root knot is Hornbeck 5226's, unbelievable what they will look like on that root knot sand! Big and beautiful looking like a bean would look in a heavy ground situation, very good bean. | |
