Belzoni, Mississippi
Im in the same situation for 2010. Iam through with early beans. The way i look at it is if i can plant my corn early enough, it will be mature before or far enough along before the "hot sand" drys out. My soybeans started burning up around the middle of June and were dead by July 4th. So maybe if the corn only cut 80 or 90 bushels on the sand, it would be better than than no soybeans that I been making. Im also thinking of milo also and a few acres of cotton. I have never planted cotton before and was wondering how drought tolarant that would be. If i had to guess, milo would be the best drought crop out of all of them but not a good price to go along with it.
