Lancaster, OH | Better is what were they trying to breed. SWM is not one of the diseases that breeders really focus on for Group III and later soybeans--kind of an after the fact kind of thing. Certainly the risk with any new development is that they may perform as promised if the genetics fit. But with limited varieties, will they fit in the introductory year? Many times not. I'd watch more plots on them and the Y beans before I judged and pick the right performing bean that I could get whether it be 2Y, M, B or Y. | |
